About The Position

Lumenci is seeking a Director, Chief of Staff to partner directly with the CEO to drive strategic initiatives, operating rigor, and cross-functional execution across a high-growth legal technology, IP services, and AI business. This role is ideal for a strategic operator with experience in high-growth, founder- or PE-backed environments who thrives at the intersection of strategy, operations, data, and executive decision-making. The Director, Chief of Staff, will help translate complex legal, technical, and business information into clear priorities, measurable outcomes, and an effective operating rhythm across U.S. and India teams. CEP is a private equity firm headquartered in Boston, MA, that partners with companies seeking investments to support growth or fund acquisitions, partial buyouts, or recapitalization opportunities. Employment Type: Full-time, exempt Reports To: Chief Executive Officer Location: United States (Austin, TX or New York City preferred; remote within the U.S. acceptable) Role Overview The Director, Chief of Staff will partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to help scale Lumenci’s IP services and AI capabilities in the U.S. litigation market. This is a highly strategic, execution-focused role for a leader who can act as a force multiplier for the CEO by driving follow-through on priorities, connecting work across functions, and serving as a trusted source of truth across the business. The Director, Chief of Staff will operate at the intersection of strategy, operations, executive coordination, and cross-functional execution. This role requires strong communication and relationship management across the leadership team, board, investors, and key stakeholders, including coordination across teams in the U.S. and India. The ideal candidate brings strong business judgment, executive presence, and exceptional communication skills, along with the ability to translate complexity into clear priorities and measurable progress. Experience working closely with founders, boards, and investors is important, and exposure to private equity-backed businesses, M&A, corporate development, product, or AI is strongly valued. Key Responsibilities CEO Partnership and Strategic Execution Partner closely with the CEO on strategic priorities, operating decisions, and day-to-day execution support. Provide an informed pulse on the organization by surfacing key risks, opportunities, and cross-functional issues. Prepare executive-level materials for board meetings, investor updates, leadership reviews, and other high-priority communications. Serve as a key interface for the CEO with investors and external stakeholders, ensuring timely follow-up and clear communication. Data Analysis and Executive Insights Lead analysis of company-wide data related to products, litigation workflows, delivery performance, revenue, and growth. Build and maintain executive dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools that support data-driven decisions. Synthesize legal, technical, operational, and financial data into clear insights, recommendations, and decision-ready narratives. Partner with Finance, Sales, Growth, GTM, Product, Delivery, and Technology teams to improve data accuracy, visibility, and usability. Strategic Alignment and Operating Cadence Drive the company’s operating cadence, including leadership KPI reviews, planning cycles, and follow-through on strategic priorities. Align stakeholders on decisions, timelines, and ownership to ensure consistent execution across functions. Coordinate effectively across U.S. and India teams to keep leadership priorities connected and execution on track. Serve as a central source of truth for the CEO by synthesizing updates and insights across core business functions. Cross-Functional Leadership Act as a connective leader across Product, Delivery, Sales, Marketing, Finance, People Operations, and other leadership functions. Absorb and synthesize organizational context to provide leadership with timely, accurate inputs for decision-making. Drive clear communication, accountability, and follow-through across cross-functional initiatives. Special Projects and Scale Initiatives Lead high-priority initiatives tied to growth, scale, operational improvement, and strategic business needs. Support CEO meeting preparation, prioritization, and executive workflow management to improve focus and decision efficiency. Contribute to M&A and other strategic initiatives as relevant to the company’s broader growth strategy. Help shape longer-term U.S. operating capabilities as Lumenci continues to scale. Qualifications and Experience 7–10+ years of experience in strategy, operations, analytics, consulting, investing, or senior program leadership roles. Experience partnering closely with founders, senior executives, boards, and investors. Demonstrated strength in strategic thinking, business judgment, and executive communication. Strong analytical skills, with experience turning complex data into actionable insights and operating recommendations. Exposure to M&A, corporate development, or related strategic initiatives is strongly preferred. Product, SaaS, or AI experience is a plus; working knowledge of AI is beneficial. Compensation & Pay Transparency The expected total annual compensation range for this role is between $165,000–$200,000, which may include base compensation and other eligible incentive components. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, and work location.
