About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation, a joint venture with Select Medical, is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for their inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Temple, TX. This role is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing clinical services, managing nursing teams, and ensuring the highest quality of care for patients with a variety of complex medical conditions. The hospital specializes in treating individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputations, and multiple traumas.

Requirements

  • BSN required
  • MSN or equivalent Masters in Healthcare or enrollment in a Masters program required
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse required
  • 3-5 years of hospital nursing experience required
  • 3 or more years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity required
  • Certified BLS completed on date of hire required
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Three of these years of RN experience in rehabilitation nursing preferred
  • CRRN required when eligible

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the oversight and establishment of best practices and standards for hospital clinical services.
  • Manage nursing teams to provide the highest quality of care and service for patients.
  • Coordinate nursing with other patient care and support functions to assure optimum delivery of health care.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in establishing standards for nursing and other clinical services.
  • Steer progressive clinical excellence through staff development.
  • Share responsibility for employee engagement, recruitment, and retention.
  • Provide nursing care to patients with acute medical conditions.
  • Actively assign nursing personnel, serve as a resource person and consultant.
  • Implement company standards of care, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Create and implement schedules for safe staffing.
  • Work collaboratively with hospital leadership and other departments to achieve the best patient outcomes.
