About The Position

Provides oversight of the Nursing Services department and sits as a member of the Executive Team. The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a senior member of the Executive Leadership Team and provides oversight of the Nursing Services Team of CNAs, LPNs, RNs, Laboratory, Imaging, Physical Therapy, and Agency Nursing Staff. The CNO is accountable for overall professional nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care standards, policies, and protocols are consistently applied across the Hospital. This position is responsible for the administrative, clinical, regulatory and financial leadership for the following departments: Nursing Services, Emergency Services, Central Sterile Services, Quality, Employee Health, Infection Prevention. Support, coordination, imaging services, laboratory, physical therapy and collaboration with other OMHC departments. This CNO role also includes oversight of the CBA Union Nursing staff and the daily scheduling of the Nursing Department.

Requirements

  • BSN in Nursing required, MSN preferred.
  • Washington state licensure as a Registered Nurse, current and unrestricted.
  • Current SLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS certifications or be able to obtain.
  • Current CPR training and certification

  • Developing and implementing nursing strategies aligned with the Hospital's mission, vision, and goals
  • Ensuring high-quality patient care, compliance with regulations, and adherence to professional nursing standards
  • Budget management, financial forecasting, staffing decisions, and resource allocation
  • Leading nursing teams, mentoring staff, and fostering professional growth
  • Participating in senior leadership meetings, influencing organizational decisions, and representing nursing perspectives at the executive level
