Chief Nurse Officer
About The Position
To provide leadership and direction for the development of patient care programs, policies and procedures describing how patients’ needs for nursing care are assessed, evaluated and met; to develop and implement the institute’s plans for providing nursing care to patients; to participate with administrative and clinical leaders in Institute decision-making structures and processes; to develop and approve nursing standards of care and practice as well as programs designed to measure, assess and improve outcomes of nursing care; to promote an environment that fosters mutual respect and ongoing learning and supports patient recovery.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program required.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or in a compact state required.
- Extensive experience in professional nursing administration with demonstrated executive leadership ability.
- Considerable direct care experience in mental health nursing required.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree and/or doctorate degree in psychiatric mental health nursing, or nursing administration preferred.
