About The Position

MercyOne Genesis Cancer Care is seeking a U.S. Board Certified Medical Physicist to join their nationally accredited cancer program. This role offers the opportunity to step into a Chief-level position for the right candidate. The position is full-time, with a focus on patient- and family-centered care, delivering collaborative, high-quality treatment. The ideal candidate is passionate about advancing radiation oncology care, leading quality initiatives, and working in a highly collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Medical Physics
  • ABR or ABMP board certified or eligible (with intent to certify)
  • Eligible for Iowa Radiation Therapy Physicist licensure
  • Experience (or interest) in Linear accelerator calibration/commissioning
  • Experience (or interest) in QA program oversight
  • Experience (or interest) in Technology implementation
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and leadership mindset (especially for Chief consideration)

Responsibilities

  • Patient-specific QA & chart QA
  • Linac QA and commissioning
  • Plan checks and treatment support
  • Implementation of new technologies (with leadership opportunities at Chief level)
