About The Position

Evvy is a precision women’s health company focused on leveraging the vaginal microbiome to improve health outcomes across a woman's lifespan. They have developed a validated Vaginal Microbiome Test and an AI-powered personalized care platform, serving over 100,000 patients and 3,000 providers. Evvy is building clinical evidence for a new category using the vaginal microbiome to predict and improve fertility outcomes. They are seeking a Chief Medical Officer to lead the clinical strategy and scientific integrity of their studies in this area, aiming to establish credibility with the reproductive medicine community. This role involves designing clinical studies, ensuring their rigor for publication and commercialization, and working closely with data science and study execution teams. The position offers a unique opportunity to shape the understanding of the vaginal microbiome's role in fertility within a company possessing significant data, patient reach, and momentum. The ideal candidate is energized by research, innovation, and category creation. The role can be full-time or part-time for physicians who wish to maintain clinical practice or academic affiliations.

Requirements

Board certification in reproductive endocrinology with established standing in reproductive medicine.
A current academic appointment or equivalent research standing.
A substantial peer-reviewed publication record.
Direct experience designing and running clinical studies (prospective and randomized experience strongly preferred).
Active participation in relevant professional organizations such as ASRM.
Demonstrated ability to design studies against a budget and a timeline, prioritizing endpoint selection, cohort size, and trial duration with both scientific and business lenses.
Interest in leveraging the vaginal microbiome to improve fertility outcomes.
Ability to think about clinical study design with both scientific rigor and business context.
Comfort operating independently as an external, credible voice, while being a true partner.
Willingness to have Evvy as your only senior role with a private company.

Responsibilities

Own Clinical Study Design & Strategy, including endpoints, inclusion/exclusion criteria, randomization, power calculations, and complete protocol.
Design studies to support strong clinical utility, peer-reviewed publication, and commercial adoption of Evvy’s fertility offering.
Optimize evidence generation within budget and timeline constraints.
Bring research expertise and rigor to study pipeline sequencing and prioritization.
Leverage Evvy’s Fertility Advisory Board and external clinical experts for study design input.
Own IRB submission strategy and ensure study designs withstand scrutiny.
Collaborate with internal data science and study execution leads.
Serve as Evvy’s senior clinical voice in the fertility and IVF community.
Represent Evvy at major conferences (e.g., ASRM, ACOG) and with key opinion leaders.
Serve as internal co-Principal Investigator, presenting study data.
Build and deepen relationships with IVF clinics, REI doctors, and fertility societies.
Shape long-term clinical credibility strategy across providers, payors, professional societies, and guidelines.
Partner on Product Innovation & Clinical Strategy, identifying opportunities to improve patient outcomes.
Serve as a fertility subject matter expert across Product, Growth, and R&D.
Translate clinical and operational insights into scalable product improvements.
Act as a clinical thought partner to founders and the board.
