Big Cartel is seeking a Chief Marketing Officer to serve as the architect and leader of our integrated growth engine. We operate at the center of the Creator Economy, providing a dedicated platform for independent creators and makers who prioritize simplicity and creative autonomy. Your mandate is to unify Demand Generation, Brand & Partnership Marketing, Lifecycle Marketing, and Product Marketing into a single, cohesive strategy. We require an executive who can move beyond traditional department boundaries to partner deeply with our Product Team, ensuring that our brand narrative, marketing properties, and platform experience function as a unified ecosystem for acquisition and monetization. The CMO at Big Cartel must orchestrate growth across a three-stage continuum, requiring a high degree of cross-functional collaboration: Demand Generation (Off-Platform): Orchestrating organic, paid, and partnership channels to reach creators where they live. Acquisition & Conversion (Marketing Site): Optimizing our web properties to convert high-intent traffic into freemium, trial, and paid users. Monetization & Retention (In-Platform): Collaborating with Product to drive the transition from free tiers to paid subscriptions through behavioral triggers and value-reinforcement.
