About The Position

The Chief Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of aviation maintenance operations. This position requires a strong understanding of FAA regulations and meticulous attention to detail to maintain the highest standards of safety and airworthiness in aviation maintenance.

Requirements

A minimum of 10 years of experience within the aviation industry.
Experience in Quality Control environments, accomplishing quality control duties and responsibilities.
A thorough understanding of FAA regulations and other relevant industry guidelines is necessary.
The Chief Inspector must ensure that their organization complies with all applicable standards.
Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills are vital.
The ability to lead and inspire a team toward quality excellence is essential.
Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.

Responsibilities

Directing Quality Control Inspectors to ensure that all maintenance processes and procedures align with Company and FAA-approved manuals.
Conducting inspections, including work-in-progress, and completed inspections, to verify compliance.
Checking workmanship, materials, standards, and procedures related to maintenance activities.
Reporting any discrepancies noted during inspections to the Chief Inspector and Director of Maintenance.
Travel to perform on-site inspections, and root cause analysis as needed.
Checking the quality of workmanship, materials, and adherence to standards and procedures within the maintenance activities of the organization.
Review completed work by airframe and powerplant mechanics or repairmen.
Promptly reporting any discrepancies or non-compliance observed during inspections in concert with the Director of Maintenance.
Recommending immediate corrective actions and preventative measures.
Capturing and memorializing all quality escapes and corrective actions.
Ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft by conducting inspections to verify compliance with established procedures and FAA regulations.
Maintaining a high level of knowledge by reviewing and manuals, publications, and specific items.
Staying informed about manufacturers’ technical service documentation to ensure continued airworthiness.
Actively reviewing the Internal manuals for continued compliance.
Contributing ideas for process improvements and streamlining procedures.
Supporting the management and maintenance of quality assurance programs.
Coordinating with various parties, including Flight Operations, maintenance vendors, and FBOs, during maintenance events.
Enforcing manual compliance and updating manuals as required.
