About The Position

The Chief Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of aviation maintenance operations. This position requires a strong understanding of FAA regulations and meticulous attention to detail to maintain the highest standards of safety and airworthiness in aviation maintenance.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience within the aviation industry.
  • Experience in Quality Control environments, accomplishing quality control duties and responsibilities.
  • A thorough understanding of FAA regulations and other relevant industry guidelines is necessary.
  • The Chief Inspector must ensure that their organization complies with all applicable standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills are vital.
  • The ability to lead and inspire a team toward quality excellence is essential.
  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred

Responsibilities

  • Directing Quality Control Inspectors to ensure that all maintenance processes and procedures align with Company and FAA-approved manuals.
  • Conducting inspections, including work-in-progress, and completed inspections, to verify compliance.
  • Checking workmanship, materials, standards, and procedures related to maintenance activities.
  • Reporting any discrepancies noted during inspections to the Chief Inspector and Director of Maintenance.
  • Travel to perform on-site inspections, and root cause analysis as needed.
  • Checking the quality of workmanship, materials, and adherence to standards and procedures within the maintenance activities of the organization.
  • Review completed work by airframe and powerplant mechanics or repairmen.
  • Promptly reporting any discrepancies or non-compliance observed during inspections in concert with the Director of Maintenance.
  • Recommending immediate corrective actions and preventative measures.
  • Capturing and memorializing all quality escapes and corrective actions.
  • Ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft by conducting inspections to verify compliance with established procedures and FAA regulations.
  • Maintaining a high level of knowledge by reviewing and manuals, publications, and specific items.
  • Staying informed about manufacturers’ technical service documentation to ensure continued airworthiness.
  • Actively reviewing the Internal manuals for continued compliance.
  • Contributing ideas for process improvements and streamlining procedures.
  • Supporting the management and maintenance of quality assurance programs.
  • Coordinating with various parties, including Flight Operations, maintenance vendors, and FBOs, during maintenance events.
  • Enforcing manual compliance and updating manuals as required.
