The Chief Inspector is responsible for leading and maintaining the inspection and quality-control functions of the FAA Part 145 avionics repair station. This position ensures maintenance, alteration, inspection, testing, documentation, and return-to-service activities are performed in compliance with applicable FAA regulations, manufacturer data, customer requirements, the Repair Station Manual, Quality Control Manual, and company procedures. The Chief Inspector has the authority to stop work, reject nonconforming articles, and withhold approval for return to service when airworthiness, quality, safety, procedural compliance, or documentation requirements have not been met.
