The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a strategic and operational leader responsible for building and scaling the company’s global IT infrastructure while aligning technology strategy with corporate objectives. This executive will drive efficiency, compliance, and digital innovation across the enterprise while serving as a trusted partner to the Board, Audit Committee, and senior leadership. The CIO will lead a high-performing team across infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems, ensuring IT maturity and scalability to support growth, expansion, and regulatory compliance in a regulated industry.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive IT leadership experience, including leading mid-size, geographically distributed technology organizations, managing multi-million-dollar budgets, and partnering with executive leadership and boards on technology strategy.
  • Proven experience in medical device, biotech, pharma, or other regulated industries with exposure to FDA, SOX, HIPAA, GDPR
  • Track record implementing and optimizing ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and adjacent platforms (LIMS, QMS, CRM).
  • Demonstrated success building and leading IT security programs and reporting readiness to Boards.
  • Experience leading IT through growth, global expansion, and M&A integration.
  • Have managed IT organizations of 15–30+ with budgets between $10M–$25M.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term vision and near-term execution.
  • Strong business acumen; able to translate IT investments into business outcomes.
  • Exceptional executive presence and communication skills with experience engaging Boards and senior leadership.
  • Builder mindset with demonstrated ability to mature IT functions in dynamic, growth-oriented environments.
  • Collaborative leader who develops high-performing teams and drives cultural alignment across global operations.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Master’s degree are preferred.
  • CISSP, CISM, PMP, or equivalent certifications, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a global IT roadmap that supports business objectives, including revenue growth, margin improvement, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with executive leadership and business units to integrate IT into core business strategies, enabling digital transformation and business innovation.
  • Present regularly to the Board and Audit Committee on IT strategy, cybersecurity readiness, and enterprise risk management.
  • Scale IT systems and infrastructure to support global operations, manufacturing, and commercial expansion.
  • Oversee enterprise systems including ERP, LIMS, QMS, CRM, eCommerce, and other cloud-based collaboration platforms.
  • Drive digital innovation by identifying and deploying emerging technologies that enhance efficiency, scalability, and business value.
  • Lead the development and execution of a robust cybersecurity strategy in alignment with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Establish IT governance frameworks that safeguard business continuity, data integrity, and risk management.
  • Build and lead a global IT team of 15–30+ professionals across infrastructure, applications, security, and helpdesk functions.
  • Manage IT budgets in the $10M–$25M range, ensuring cost-effectiveness and ROI from technology investments.
  • Oversee IT vendor relationships, contracts, and enterprise-wide technology sourcing strategies.
