About The Position

The Chief Financial Officer serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the President & CEO. This role provides enterprise-wide financial leadership across Equity Technology Group and all subsidiary entities, including Equity Engineering, Equity Software, Equity Knowledge, CorrSolutions, and Equity Properties. The CFO plays an active, hands-on role in both strategic and operational finance, and serves as a visible steward of ETG's employee-ownership culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • 10–15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with demonstrated advancement through roles of increasing scope and responsibility
  • Prior experience as a VP of Finance, Director of Finance, or Controller in a multi-entity or holding company environment; candidates ready to step into their first CFO role are welcomed and encouraged to apply
  • Hands-on background across all core financial functions - not solely a strategic or oversight role
  • Experience in professional or technical services industries preferred (engineering, software, or consulting a plus)
  • Proven ability to develop and execute multi-year financial strategies aligned with organizational goals across a diversified portfolio of business units
  • Experience building and managing annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes at the enterprise level
  • Track record of translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for executive and board-level audiences
  • Experience designing or redesigning incentive compensation plans, including annual bonus structures and sales commission frameworks
  • Strong command of financial reporting, cash flow management, and internal controls across multiple legal entities
  • Experience managing relationships with banking partners, external auditors, and financial advisors
  • Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms; experience with payroll and HRIS integration a plus
  • Ability to lead and develop a finance team in a lean, multi-subsidiary environment
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build trust across departments and subsidiary leadership teams
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment that values practical expertise alongside strategic vision

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance or Business preferred
  • CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), including plan compliance, annual valuation processes, and fiduciary responsibilities
  • Experience working with ESOP trustees, plan administrators, and third-party administrators
  • Understanding of ERISA requirements and annual ESOP reporting and disclosure obligations

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the President & CEO and executive leadership team to develop and execute multi-year financial strategy across ETG and its subsidiaries
  • Lead enterprise-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for the executive team and Board of Directors
  • Design and oversee incentive compensation plans, including annual bonus structures and sales commission frameworks
  • Oversee financial reporting, cash flow management, and internal controls across all legal entities
  • Manage relationships with banking partners, external auditors, and financial advisors
  • Direct the selection, implementation, and ongoing administration of financial systems and ERP platforms
  • Ensure timely, accurate consolidated financial statements across the holding company and subsidiaries
  • Serve as a visible champion of ETG’s employee-ownership culture, both internally and with outside stakeholders
  • Oversee ESOP plan compliance, annual valuation processes, and fiduciary responsibilities
  • Manage relationships with the ESOP trustee, plan administrators, and third-party administrators
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA requirements and annual ESOP reporting and disclosure obligations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team operating in a lean, multi-subsidiary environment
  • Build trust and collaborative working relationships with subsidiary leadership teams across Equity Engineering, Equity Software, Equity Knowledge, CorrSolutions, and Equity Properties
  • Partner with HR on payroll and HRIS integration matters as needed
  • Work closely with the outgoing CFO to ensure a smooth, well-documented transition
