About The Position

The Surgical Institute of Reading (SIR) is a physician-owned entity comprising a surgical specialty hospital, an outpatient ambulatory surgery center, three physical therapy centers, and an off-site business annex. SIR focuses on patient-centered care, excellence, quality, patient safety, compliance, and the overall patient experience, providing easy access to care and a state-of-the-art facility. Both the surgical hospital and ambulatory surgery center have received national recognition. Services include in-house imaging (diagnostic & CT) and anesthesia. The three physical therapy centers in Exeter and Wyomissing offer recovery assistance, sports medicine, TMJ treatment, concussion therapy, occupational therapy, BIG Parkinson’s, and vestibular (balance) therapy. SIR has 5 operating rooms and 1 treatment room, while RSC has 3 operating rooms and 1 treatment room. Specialties include General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic (joint, hand, shoulder), Orthopedic Foot & Ankle, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), Otolaryngology/ENT, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Spinal Surgery, and Sports Medicine.

Requirements

  • Recent hospital financial management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of hospital financial operations or revenue cycle management
  • Management of multiple departments including business office functions and materials management
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business degree
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, analytical and computer skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Healthcare Administration
  • CPA

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate skills and leadership in management, financial operations, hospital operations, fiscal affairs, strategic financial planning, revenue cycle management, information technology, internal controls and compliance
  • Provide overall leadership and management of the hospital
  • Participate in hospital-wide strategic and operational planning
  • Perform Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Manage Revenue Cycle Management
  • Oversee Expense Management
  • Conduct Financial Reporting
  • Lead Service Line Development & Analysis
  • Coordinate with Central Billing Office
  • Handle Regulatory Reporting
  • Manage Capital Planning and Management
  • Oversee Business Office operations
  • Manage Revenue Cycle operations
  • Manage Finance & Accounts Payable
  • Oversee Facilities Management
  • Manage Materials Management
  • Directly interact with the Hospital Management Team and Staff, Physicians, Governing Board, Executive Committees, USPI & Dignity Health, and Tenet Senior Leaders
  • Directly responsible for the Business Office to include Registration, Scheduling, IV/Auth
  • Directly responsible for Revenue Cycle to include Charge Capture, Collections, A/P, Denials Management
  • Directly responsible for the Facilities Management Department
  • Directly responsible for the Materials Management Department
