About The Position

Responsible for all aspects of agency financial management. Current budget is $16M. Develop and monitor all financial policies and procedures; manage agency cash flow and risk. Develop agency budget; manage government grant budgets and billings. Produce financial reports for management staff, board and funders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or related progressive experience.
  • Minimum five years experience of financial management in the nonprofit arena.
  • Advanced computer, keyboarding, and mathematical skills.
  • Experience with SAGE or similar accounting systems.

Nice To Haves

  • 340B experience a plus.
  • CPA a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an active member of leadership and executive teams and provide leadership and guidance on all major strategic and financial matters concerning agency.
  • Assure that all financial activities are consistent with Caracole mission.
  • Supervise Finance Department (approx. 2 staff); hire, train, support team members in carrying out financial needs of the agency.
  • Work with senior leadership and CEO in projecting annual and monthly budgets. Prepare and monitor activity against all budgets.
  • Oversee all grant budgets and billings in line with all applicable regulations, processes and best practices.
  • Manage cash flow, use of the Line of Credit, bank accounts and corporate insurance.
  • Oversee all legally required tax and financial filings.
  • Oversee all accounts receivable and accounts payable including rents paid by clients and to landlords.
  • Manage agency financial risk including insurance policies and agency 401k retirement fund.
  • Provide staff support to the Board Finance Committee. Produce financial reports for board meetings.
  • Maintain and update Agency Financial Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Coordinate all activities with accounting firm performing annual audit.
  • Produce monthly financial reports for each program.
  • Coordinate with Chief Operating Officer and HR to manage employee pay and benefits.
  • Management pay schedule to consultants and vendors.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Produce quarterly and year-to-date financial reports for Board of Directors.
  • Oversee payroll, banking relationships, and broader financial systems administration.
  • Experience overseeing government and private grant restrictions, compliance requirements, and funding accountability.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by CEO.
