About The Position

A2LA is a non-profit, public service membership organization offering compliance and accreditation services to organizations worldwide. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for shaping the organization's financial strategy and ensuring its long-term financial health and sustainability. The CFO provides leadership and oversight of all financial functions, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, risk management, and compliance. As a strategic partner to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors, the CFO helps drive organizational growth, operational excellence, and informed decision-making through financial insight and business intelligence. This role ensures strong financial stewardship, effective governance, and the alignment of financial resources with organizational priorities and strategic objectives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including senior leadership roles
Proven experience developing and executing financial strategy
Experience presenting to executive leadership and Boards of Directors
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance
Experience serving as a fiduciary to company-sponsored retirement plans and portfolio/investment management
Experience overseeing accounting, FP&A, and treasury functions
Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams
Experience with ERP systems is required

Experience with NetSuite or similar platforms is preferred

Responsibilities

Provide executive leadership for all financial functions, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and treasury
Develop and execute the organization’s financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives
Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors on financial performance and long-term planning
Lead the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, and variance analysis
Oversee cash flow management, investment strategies, and capital planning
Ensure integrity of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
Establish and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies
Oversee and direct annual financial audit and ensure timely completion and resolution of findings
Present financial results, forecasts, and key metrics to executive leadership and the Board
Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, insurers, and consultants
Provide leadership and oversight of the Controller and Finance team
Drive financial performance through key performance indicators and data-driven decision-making
Lead enterprise risk management and compliance efforts including property and liability insurance portfolios
Champion process improvement and system enhancements across the finance department
Perform other duties and strategic initiatives as assigned
