About The Position

A large vertically integrated agriculture company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join their dynamic organization based in New York. The ideal candidate will have strong oversight experience of multiple entities and locations, strong analytical, strategic-planning, operational and communication skills, including an ability to work well with CEO, board members and other senior executives. Due to the hands-on nature of their business, the role is not available for a home based or hybrid work situation.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Accounting and at least 15 years of experience in accounting or finance, including a minimum of ten years in a management role.
  • Agriculture or food manufacturing industry experience.
  • Professionals should possess knowledge of all aspects of GAAP.
  • Candidates for CFO should have held positions of increasing responsibility within accounting and finance.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced credentials such as an MBA, CPA, CGMA or CMA preferred.
  • CPA/MBA Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Managing the financial risks of the company. This includes handling financial planning, record-keeping, financial reporting and managing the company's financial risks.
  • Preparing the company's financial budgets and forecasts. This involves incorporating all the potential business activities in the fiscal year, making estimates based on historical data, assessing market trends, and more.
  • Oversee the company's compliance with all related financial regulations.
  • Managing the company's capital, ensuring that there is enough cash flow to meet the company's operational and strategic needs.
  • Analyze the company's financial data to identify the trends and opportunities for improving financial performance.
  • Preparing the monthly financial statements and ensuring the company's financial statements are accurate and comply with financial regulations and standards.
  • Work closely with investors and stakeholders of the company, providing regular updates on the company's financial performance.
  • Play a key role in corporate strategic planning, assessing financial outcomes of various strategic decisions.
  • Tax planning and ensuring the company meets all its tax obligations.
  • Ensure timely repayment of debts and manage interest rate risks.
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate business risks and protect the company's assets. Ensure that the company’s funding to merchants is aligned with the company’s policy and managing the fund recovery process.
  • Spearhead process improvements in the department to boost efficiency and accuracy.
  • Mentor & Develop staff.
