About The Position

Brevard Physician Associates (BPA) is a premier, privately owned multi-specialty physician group providing hospital-based services in Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Diagnostic Radiology, and Interventional Radiology throughout Brevard County Florida. This role requires a seasoned healthcare financial executive with a proven track record of navigating complex revenue cycles, managed care negations, and physician-led governance. As an accomplished financial architect, the CFO will skillfully navigate the intricacies of healthcare contracting and partnership nuances, serving as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board if Directors to ensure long-term fiscal health and transparency for out physician-shareholders.

Requirements

  • MBA/MHA in Finance or Accounting required
  • 12+ years of progressive financial leadership, specifically within a physician-owned group, or hospital-based medical group.
  • Mastery of healthcare subsidy modeling, managed care negotiation, and partnership-style (PLLC) financial structures.
  • Experience with enterprise-level financial platforms and HRIS/Payroll systems (e.g., UKG Pro).

Responsibilities

  • Build multi-year growth strategies and capital allocation models using financial data.
  • Serve as the lead financial advisor in stipend and subsidy negotiations.
  • Identify and model financial support needs and opportunities for service line expansion or joint ventures.
  • Lead enterprise capital allocation strategy, including evaluation of ROI for growth initiatives, staffing models, technology investments, and service line expansion.
  • Ensure investment decisions align with long-term physician shareholder value and risk tolerance.
  • Lead the strategy and contract negotiations with billing vendors.
  • Lead the strategy for Managed Care contracting, leveraging billing trends to secure favorable reimbursement rates and payer mix optimization.
  • High-level monitoring of legislative impacts on the group's revenue.
  • Design and refine specialized physician compensation models to ensure they drive clinical performance while maintaining FMV compliance.
  • Oversee the strategic management of partner distributions and equity buy-in/buy-out structures.
  • Act as the primary fiduciary for BPA’s 401(k) Plan, ensuring ERISA compliance and optimal plan design.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure the overall cost of health and welfare benefits is sustainable and competitive.
  • Act as BPA’s primary financial representative to banks, auditors, legal counsel, benefit advisors, and other external partners.
  • Lead negotiations and relationship management with external financial stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship and executive guidance to the Controller and the internal accounting/payroll team.
  • Serve as the lead financial representative at Board meetings and Finance Committee meetings, translating tactical data into strategic narratives for physician-owners.
  • Maintain oversight of BPA’s balance sheet, liquidity position, and reserves to ensure financial resilience.
  • Develop downside, stress-test, and contingency financial models to support executive and Board decision-making.
  • Ensure strong internal financial controls, audit readiness, and compliance with applicable healthcare, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the integrity, accuracy, and alignment of financial data across accounting, RCM, payroll, and operational systems.
  • Drive the development of financial dashboards, KPIs, and forecasting tools.
  • Lead selection, implementation, and optimization of enterprise financial systems as needed.
