About The Position

Fortis Property Management is seeking a strategic and growth-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and drive the organization’s financial vision, strategy, and operational excellence across a rapidly expanding multifamily portfolio. The CFO will oversee all financial functions including accounting, treasury, financial planning & analysis, capital management, compliance, and strategic growth initiatives. This role will directly influence enterprise expansion, portfolio performance, and investment decisions while ensuring strong financial discipline, scalable infrastructure, and operational alignment. The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a core executive leader responsible for shaping the organization’s financial direction and long-term scalability. This role partners closely with ownership and executive leadership to guide capital positioning, portfolio growth strategy, and enterprise investment decisions while fostering a high-performing financial organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required
  • 12+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise financial strategy aligned with organizational growth and operational objectives
  • Direct annual budgeting, multi-year forecasting, and scenario modeling processes
  • Provide executive insight into portfolio performance, margin optimization, and cost containment initiatives
  • Establish and monitor financial KPIs, dashboards, and performance scorecards
  • Advise leadership on capital allocation strategies and financial risk considerations
  • Oversee corporate and property accounting operations ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Ensure preparation of consolidated financial statements and management reporting packages
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Oversee audit readiness and coordination with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Lead cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital optimization
  • Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and treasury strategy
  • Support capital raise initiatives and lender reporting requirements
  • Monitor covenant compliance and financial obligations
  • Develop strategies to improve cash conversion cycles and financial flexibility
  • Establish financial risk management frameworks and mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, contractual, and reporting requirements
  • Oversee insurance financial coordination and risk transfer strategy
  • Maintain internal control environments aligned with best practices
  • Provide financial leadership for acquisitions, dispositions, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Lead financial due diligence, valuation support, and integration planning
  • Develop scalable financial infrastructure supporting geographic and portfolio expansion
  • Partner with operations and asset teams during transitions and integrations
  • Lead enterprise FP&A function supporting strategic decision-making
  • Deliver actionable financial insights to executive leadership
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting performance
