About The Position

MMG Equity Partners is seeking an experienced, strategic, and detail-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance across Tamarack Resort, an MMG Equity Partners portfolio company. Based in Miami, Florida (with 25–50% travel to resort operations) or on-site at Tamarack Resort in Donnelly, Idaho, the CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team reporting directly to the CEO and will lead the finance function across multiple lines of business within a complex, multi-revenue operating environment. The ideal candidate brings deep technical finance and accounting expertise, strong leadership, and a proven ability to thrive in complex, multi-entity operating environments – including the ability to aggregate and synthesize financial data from disparate systems and platforms into a cohesive accounting process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting senior leadership experience, preferably in multi-entity, multi-revenue, or operationally complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and audit preparedness.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, NetSuite) and operational platforms across diverse business units.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, develop processes, and manage complex financial operations.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate numbers into strategic insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to aggregate financial data from multiple, disparate systems (ERP, POS, property management, real estate platforms) into a unified accounting and reporting process.
  • Proven track record of outlining and articulating financial priorities and developing strategies which advance these priorities within the acceptable limits of risk and exposure.

  • Experience in the hospitality or resort industry is a plus.
  • Experience with real estate development and commission-based sales accounting.
  • Experience with financial coordination, budgeting and forecasting across various business segments
  • Background in both public and private accounting environments.
  • Knowledge of cyclical business dynamics and the operational complexity of multi-revenue, year-round operating businesses.
  • Comfortable in a hands-on leadership role, capable of both strategic thinking and day-to-day execution in complex, multi-entity operating environments with multiple concurrent systems and data sources.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed asset accounting functions.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain full balance sheet reconciliation ownership.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and board-level reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain audit-ready financial records and serve as primary liaison to external auditors if and when an audit process is initiated.
  • Deliver clear, actionable financial insights to the CEO and ownership group.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process in coordination with department leaders and operational units.
  • Develop rolling forecasts and financial models to support short- and long-term planning.
  • Collaborate closely with business unit leaders to align financial plans with operational realities and strategic objectives.
  • Support the COO with financial insights to drive operational decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with EB-5 program requirements, including investor reporting and job creation tracking.
  • Track capital inflows and uses related to EB-5 investments.
  • Coordinate appraisals and valuations as required.
  • Design, implement, and monitor effective internal controls across all departments.
  • Manage enterprise risk from a financial controls perspective, including fraud prevention and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide financial training and insights to non-financial managers to foster accountability and ownership across departments.
  • Direct and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering growth and accountability.
  • Develop staffing plans and training programs to support accounting demands across business cycles.
  • Oversee real estate transactions and joint venture (JV) structures.
  • Manage issuance of deeds and mortgage documentation.
  • Maintain and update development financial models.
  • Evaluate and enhance accounting systems (e.g., ERP, POS, and property management platforms).
  • Streamline cross-departmental workflows to support operational efficiency.
  • Oversee hiring strategy and compensation structures in coordination with operational leadership.
  • Manage visa worker programs and related compliance requirements.
  • Ensure HR compliance across all entities.
  • Own vendor contract financial terms and lead vendor negotiations.
  • Ensure vendor compliance and financial reporting obligations are met.
  • Oversee compliance across IDL, IDPR, and federal agreements.
  • Ensure accurate rent calculations and reporting.
  • Manage banking relationships and debt structures.
  • Support capital raises and investor relations.
  • Partner with the CEO and COO on cash flow management, capital project planning, investor reporting, and financial due diligence.
  • Support equity and debt financing initiatives, including EB-5 and preferred equity structures.
