The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for effectively managing the fiscal affairs of the school district. This role oversees the district's budget planning, prepares financial reports, and supervises key departments like Accounts Payable and Payroll. The CFO also manages the district's risk and insurance programs, including property, liability, vehicle, and student insurance. Additionally, this position is responsible for the telecommunications system, ensuring compliance with all audit requirements, managing payroll functions, bank reconciliations, and coordinating bidding procedures for district funds. The CFO stays current on financial software needs and ensures adequate bonding for board members and employees. This role works closely with the Director of Accounting Services on budget preparation, financial statements, and tax collections. The CFO also calculates salaries, prepares contracts for certified employees, and performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
