About The Position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a vital executive leader dedicated to safeguarding the organization’s financial health and long-term sustainability. By providing strategic financial leadership and overseeing complex resource stewardship, the CFO ensures that the agency possesses the fiscal resilience and data-driven insights necessary to execute its mission-driven objectives. This role bridges high-level strategic planning with rigorous financial oversight to drive organizational growth and stability.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of strategic financial leadership in complex, multi-site organizations, with expertise in fiscal planning, capital allocation, and risk management.
  • Ability to drive enterprise-wide financial strategy, integrating data-driven insights into operational decision-making to ensure organizational sustainability.
  • Expertise in overseeing multi-site financial operations, managing complex budgets, and establishing robust internal controls and governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead, mentor, and cultivate high-performing finance and administrative teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Experience navigating regulatory environments relevant to healthcare (e.g., audits, compliance, financial reporting requirements) and effectively communicating financial performance to executive leadership and boards.
  • Ability to partner with the CEO and executive team to identify growth opportunities, mitigate operational risks, and optimize resource utilization across the organization.
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MPA) strongly preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years at the C-suite or senior executive level.
  • Proven experience in complex, multi-site organizations (healthcare experience preferred).
  • Ability to manage complex operational priorities and respond effectively to urgent situations
  • Ability to analyze operational issues and implement effective solutions
  • High level of attention to detail, organization, and accountability
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in high-risk and time-sensitive situations
  • Ability to work effectively in a behavioral health environment
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, composure, and effective decision-making during emergencies or operational disruptions
  • Strong interpersonal skills to support collaboration across departments and external partners
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with staff, leadership, contractors, vendors, regulatory agencies, and community partners

  • Establish enterprise-wide governance standards and proactive risk-mitigation frameworks, ensuring full regulatory adherence while fostering a culture of ethics and operational resilience.
  • Cultivate high-performing executive teams by providing mentorship, clear accountability, and performance-based oversight, directly coaching senior leaders (CHRO, CFO, CIO, Director of Compliance) to foster leadership growth and organizational impact.
