The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking a distinguished and visionary healthcare executive to serve as Chief Executive Officer of Piedmont Geriatric Hospital (PGH), a Joint Commission accredited and CMS certified, 123 bed geropsychiatric hospital. It is the only Virginia state facility that exclusively treats elderly persons aged 65 and over who are in need of inpatient treatment for mental illness. PGH is located in Burkeville, VA is a small historic Nottoway County town known as a peaceful residential community. It offers a quiet, rural environment surrounded by forests and farmland. It’s located near Twin Lakes State Park and is only about 30 minutes from the town of Farmville, which offers additional dining, shopping, and historical sites like the Robert Russa Moton Museum. As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary team in delivering excellent, person-centered care to individuals with complex behavioral health needs. This position requires a dynamic and results-driven executive with a proven track record of managing large, complex healthcare operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the hospital’s operational efficiency, meeting key performance metrics, providing outstanding care, and supporting sound business and financial decision-making.
