Chief Engineer for RF Space Payloads

BAE Systems•Merrimack, NH
•$149,603 - $254,317•Onsite

About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking a self-motivated engineering leader to join its Systems Engineering Management team as a Chief Engineer for RF space payloads. The Chief Engineer serves as the technical conscience of a project or product family and owns the technical solution, ensuring the systems, products, and services developed and delivered are viable, fit for purpose, and satisfy customer needs, requirements, and mission or application objectives. The role is the primary technical interface to Program, Engineering, Functional, and Executive leadership, and engages with customers and program management. The Chief Engineer leads system architecture design and optimization, trades, and analyses; ensures designs meet technical requirements and customer and mission needs within allocated engineering cost and schedule; and confirms designs are realizable, maintainable, supportable, and testable. The role also drives technical risk and opportunity definition, identification, and mitigation or realization, and assesses technical issues and develops plans for mitigation, minimization, and closure. The position is based in Merrimack, New Hampshire, and may require collaboration with staff across BAE Systems business areas and U.S. facilities. Most responsibilities are performed full-time on site because of the need for consistent in-person collaboration, with occasional hybrid work possible depending on program phase. The listed full-time salary range is $149,603–$254,317.
