About The Position

The Chief Engineer is responsible for maintaining the entire Parkside Resort facility, including physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and related equipment in accordance with the energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs. Ensures the upkeep of the landscaping and guest areas to maintain an attractive property. Manage all rehabilitation, expansion, and special projects. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 5+ Years of engineering experience in hotels or related industry
  • 4+ Years of managerial in the same or similar environment
  • EPA – OSHA 10-30 – CPO certifications
  • HVAC – Electrical – plumbing specific
  • Ability to write and speak English to comprehend and communicate job functions to engineering staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Flexible Schedule

Responsibilities

  • Develops and completes the pivotal initiatives for the Engineering department and makes adjustments to the operations in order to meet the strategic goals and interests of Resort Operations.
  • Conducts consistent walk-throughs of each resort tower to visually assess the physical structure(s) of the building.
  • Resolves the level of safety, efficient maintenance, and operation of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment.
  • Assigns routine maintenance tasks on public spaces, meeting rooms, guest rooms, outlets, back of the house spaces, and grounds. Assigns and verifies completion with all Maintenance Technicians of all repairs, replacement, and renovation projects to offices and employee work areas.
  • Ensure that the property’s Emergency Preparedness and Safety Awareness Plan(s) are updated and current at all times.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of operating supplies and ensures that proper purchasing procedures are followed to maintain an adequate supply. Ensures all assets of the department, equipment, supplies and storage are properly locked and secured.
  • Develops and maintains human resource management practices that are performed by direct reports which include recruitment, performance management, and corrective action in partnership with the HR Business Partner.
  • Maintains firm understanding of the established Collective Bargaining Agreement as it relates to the supervision and performance of HHV-VO team members.
  • Maintains relationships, contracts, compliance, and interface issues with the operation’s business supporters and suppliers to ensure business needs and financial responsibilities are handled in a timely manner
  • Develops and Leads the financial spending of the operations as it relates to the established annual budget.
