About The Position

The Chief Engineer leads the hotel’s engineering operations and team, ensuring the property’s physical infrastructure is maintained and functions safely and efficiently. The role oversees mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, develops preventive maintenance programs, collaborates with other departments to resolve maintenance needs and guest concerns, and manages the engineering budget. The Chief Engineer also supports energy conservation and sustainable practices and keeps current with technology and industry trends to drive ongoing improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in a leadership role in engineering or facilities management.
Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians.
Oversee maintenance and repair of the hotel’s physical infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and support efficient operations.
Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs and promptly resolve guest concerns.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Identify energy conservation opportunities and implement sustainable practices.
Manage the engineering budget, including procurement of equipment and supplies.
Stay current with technology and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.
