About The Position

Cantio Hotel is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead all aspects of hotel maintenance, safety, and building operations. This key leadership position is responsible for ensuring the property, equipment, and systems operate efficiently while delivering an exceptional guest experience. The Chief Engineer will perform preventive and regular maintenance and repairs to all areas of the hotel. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized maintenance shop and for the security of hotel inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

Requirements

3+ years of progressive maintenance or engineering experience, preferably in hospitality.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
Hotel maintenance experience strongly preferred.
Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
EPA Refrigerant Certification, CPR/First Aid certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily maintenance operations for guest rooms, public spaces, grounds, and back-of-house areas.
Manage preventive maintenance programs and capital improvement projects.
Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, pool, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire safety, environmental, and local building regulations.
Lead, train, schedule, and develop the maintenance team.
Manage departmental budgets, inventory, vendor relationships, and contractor performance.
Respond to maintenance emergencies and ensure prompt resolution of guest service issues.
Support energy management and asset preservation initiatives.
