About The Position

Direct and oversee all engineering, maintenance, and repair activities throughout the hotel. Support hotel operations by maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for guests and associates. Participate in manager-on-duty coverage and emergency response activities as required. Perform all other duties deemed necessary by management.

Requirements

  • Operational knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life safety, and building automation systems.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations.
  • Ability to manage departmental budgets, expenses, inventories, and purchasing activities.
  • Ability to coordinate and oversee outside contractors, service providers, and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to conduct routine inspections.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Manager-on-duty coverage experience.
  • Emergency response experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a hotel engineering department.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all engineering, maintenance, and repair activities throughout the hotel.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, equipment, and building systems.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate Engineering Department associates.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, OSHA, fire life safety, and brand standards.
  • Maintain operational knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life safety, and building automation systems.
  • Respond to emergency situations involving equipment failures, utility interruptions, or safety concerns.
  • Manage departmental budgets, expenses, inventories, and purchasing activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee outside contractors, service providers, and vendor relationships.
  • Conduct routine inspections of guestrooms, public spaces, grounds, and mechanical areas to identify maintenance needs and ensure quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, preventative maintenance activities, inspections, warranties, permits, and equipment inventories.
  • Participate in capital planning and property improvement projects.
  • Ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner and according to established procedures.
  • Support hotel operations by maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for guests and associates.
  • Participate in manager-on-duty coverage and emergency response activities as required.
  • Perform all other duties deemed necessary by management.
