About The Position

Hilton Grand Vacations is seeking a Chief Engineer for their Casa Del Mar Resort in Ormond Beach, FL. This leadership role involves advising and controlling Engineering operations, including the supervision of mechanical, structural, electrical, and other maintenance systems. The Chief Engineer will collaborate with the Resort Leadership Team to develop maintenance programs, manage budgets, engage team members, and identify opportunities to achieve business goals.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5+ Years of engineering experience in hotels or related industry.
  • 3-5+ Years of managerial experience in the same or similar environment.
  • EPA – OSHA 10-30 – CPO certifications.
  • HVAC – Electrical – plumbing specific knowledge.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to write and speak English to comprehend and communicate job functions to engineering staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Flexible Schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts regular walk-throughs to assess the physical structure, safety, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment.
  • Assigns and verifies completion of routine maintenance on public spaces, guest rooms, back-of-house areas, and grounds.
  • Assigns and verifies completion of repairs, replacements, and renovation projects for offices and employee work areas.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, and disciplines staff within the Engineering Department.
  • Adheres to corporate purchasing policies, controls, contractor bids, budgets, and schedules.
  • Maintains Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs, including training other departments on safe equipment and energy use.
  • Regularly informs the General Manager and other department managers about the condition of the building, systems, and equipment, providing cost-effective proposals.
  • Utilizes equipment and training to computerize building information and generate reports.
  • Maintains adequate supplies and materials for daily operations and maintenance.
  • Maintains organized administrative and filing systems for correspondence, reports, and requisitions.
  • Maintains an organized system for inventory, maintenance, and storage of tools, products, materials, and equipment.
  • Is immediately available to respond to emergencies such as fires, equipment failures, floods, or other disasters.
  • Performs other duties as requested, including coordination of special guest requests, modification of spaces, construction of props, and employee relations events.
