About The Position

The Chief Engineer position is a key role at the DoubleTree Hotel Midland, overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the hotel's facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience supervising a team
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse groups
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
• Experience with maintenance management software and other relevant technologies

Nice To Haves

• degree in engineering or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the engineering team, providing guidance and support to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
• Conduct regular inspections of the hotel's facilities, identifying and addressing any maintenance or repair needs
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and reduce costs
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues that may arise
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, implementing new technologies and methods to improve the hotel's maintenance and upkeep
