About The Position

This role involves ensuring adherence to Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards, collaborating with medical and nursing staff on patient nutritional status, and conducting nutritional assessments, services, and discharge planning. The Chief Dietitian will also assist in developing and implementing CQI activities for the Culinary & Nutritional Department, provide nutritional counseling and evaluations, and lead educational sessions on diets. Additionally, the position includes supervisory duties for Culinary Department clinical personnel, covering orientation, training, and performance evaluation, and requires demonstrating geriatric and rehabilitation knowledge in patient care.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutritional Sciences.
Maintain a Massachusetts Dietitian License.
Maintain registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
At least 2 years of related administrative and clinical experience in a health care facility.
Knowledge of growth and development across the life span.

Nice To Haves

Geriatric and Rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards of practice are followed, and make recommendations to appropriate clinical personnel.
Confer with Medical and Nursing Staff regarding patient’s nutritional status and attend related patient care conferences.
Responsible for nutritional assessment, services and discharge planning.
Assist in developing and implementing the Culinary & Nutritional Department CQI activities.
Provide nutritional counseling and ongoing evaluations.
Responsible for educational sessions regarding diets and eating habits.
Assist with overall supervision of Culinary Department clinical personnel; includes orientation, training and evaluating performance.
Demonstrate geriatric and rehabilitation knowledge and skills to patient care
