University Development seeks an exceptional, strategic, and visionary Chief Development Officer for the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media. This accomplished and compelling leader will drive transformative philanthropic growth and elevate fundraising efforts for one of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s premier schools. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Development, Schools and Units, the Chief Development Officer serves as the School’s senior advancement leader, providing strategic direction and oversight for all fundraising and advancement activities. In close partnership with the Dean and University Development leadership, the Chief Development Officer will design and execute comprehensive strategies to expand philanthropic support across principal, major, annual, and planned giving, while also strengthening alumni engagement, external relations, and the School’s overall culture of philanthropy. The UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media is a nationally recognized leader in media, communications, and journalism education. Founded in 1924, Hussman combines a rich legacy with a forward-looking approach, preparing more than 1,500 students each year through hands-on learning and cutting-edge research.
