About The Position

Love Justice International (LJI) is a Christian nonprofit dedicated to fighting human trafficking by disrupting it in transit. The Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) will oversee fundraising, donor relations, and strategic partnerships, reporting to the CEO. This role involves building and executing a fundraising, marketing, and public relations plan, understanding IT systems, and traveling approximately 50% of the time to meet with donors, staff, and visit the field.

Requirements

• Mature Christian faith and agreement with the Global Value to “Abide in Christ”.
• Knowledge, understanding, and agreement with how the Christian Gospel ministers to “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40) and guides the mission.
• Agreement with the Core Value “Be the Kingdom” (in mission execution and personal conduct).
• Acknowledgment of the Statement of Faith.
• Strong passion for justice and advocacy on behalf of vulnerable populations.
• 10+ years of significant advancement experience in a leadership role, with a demonstrated record of growing revenue and building fundraising teams.
• Willingness to spend at least 30% of their time on the road engaging with donors and team members.
• High standard of personal discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong experience with HubSpot and other CRMs, with emphasis on CRM data, donor reporting, fundraising metrics development, and monthly and annual donor trends.
• Willingness and aptitude to learn to use AI tools to improve work and owned processes.

• Existing experience with AI tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute fundraising efforts to grow annual funding to $15 million within five years, maintaining fundraising efficiency at approximately 20%.
• Develop, document, and implement a comprehensive, multi-year fundraising strategy with stakeholders.
• Identify, cultivate, and secure new funding sources, including grants, corporate partnerships, and individual donations.
• Participate in the Love Justice Leadership team.
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of fundraising and marketing professionals.
• Personally manage a portfolio of major donors, modeling expected knowledge, skills, and confidence.
• Oversee the management of the donor database, ensuring accurate record-keeping and donor reporting.
• Set monthly leading indicators for the team, track performance, and hold team members accountable while providing coaching and mentorship.
• Coordinate with the communications team to develop effective fundraising materials and campaigns.
• Evaluate and report on the success of fundraising initiatives to the board and stakeholders.
• Oversee the marketing team to ensure the marketing strategy supports the development strategy.
• Own digital donor acquisition, bringing prospects with high giving likelihood into the top of the funnel, and manage acquisition cost as a direct input to overall fundraising efficiency.
