About The Position

The Chief Accountant supports the Center’s mission and Finance Department by completing accounting reconciliations and third-party reporting accurately and on time. The role gathers and organizes the Center’s financial and statistical information for reporting in compliance with third-party agency regulations. The position may also monitor grant expenses monthly to ensure that expenses are allowable under the grant and remain within budget. The Chief Accountant works with program staff to develop budgets submitted to state agencies for program funding and supports the contract process, including vendor and spend analysis, bid preparation and tabulation, and contract preparation for legal review.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least 2 years of related experience in accounting, third-party reporting, or a related field.
Strong understanding of general ledger maintenance and reconciliations.
Familiarity with third-party reporting requirements, such as CFR and HUD.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
