About The Position

The Chief Access Officer is responsible for driving ongoing census growth across all organizational programs and services. This role involves continuously monitoring the competitive landscape for potential mergers and acquisitions. The CAO also oversees all branding, marketing, social media, and other outreach initiatives targeting communities served by Gilchrist. A key responsibility is the operation of admissions center(s), with a focus on consistently exceeding the expectations of various customers, including hospital staff, physicians, nursing and group home staff, as well as patients and their families. The CAO will collaborate with customers to assess their needs and work alongside other senior leaders to develop, implement, promote, and deliver services for the expanding serious illness and end-of-life population. The organization, GBMC HealthCare, is a legacy of over 60 years in premier healthcare, situated on a suburban campus with over 250 beds. Gilchrist is Maryland's premier nonprofit provider for serious illness and end-of-life care, while Hospice of Washington County provides licensed hospice care in Hagerstown, MD, focusing on quality of life.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Health Care, Public Health, MBA or finance required
  • 10+ years of successful management in healthcare
  • Advanced skills in Excel, and Power Point and ease with data management
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Ability to effectively present to and facilitate groups
  • Skill in oral and written communication
  • Knowledgeable in all post-acute services
  • Strong Presentation skills
  • Prior experience working in complex medical environments
  • Experience with CRM and managing a successful business development enterprise

  • Routinely monitoring the competitive environment for potential mergers and acquisitions.
  • Being responsible for all branding, marketing, social media and other outreach activities directed at the communities served by Gilchrist.
  • Operating the admissions center(s) always seeking to exceed the expectations of our customers (hospital staff, physicians, nursing and group home staff as well as our patients and families).
  • Working with our customers to assess their needs.
  • Working collaboratively with other senior leaders to design, implement, promote and service the needs of our growing serious illness and end of life population.
