About The Position

The CHHA/CNA provides direct care to residents while promoting each resident’s highest level of functioning, as directed by management. The role also helps maintain a safe and neat resident environment and promotes quality services in accordance with facility standards and State and Federal Regulations. The position is available full-time, part-time, or per diem at the Mira Vie East Brunswick community in East Brunswick, New Jersey.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least six months of experience in a caregiving role or similar function.
CNA or HHA certification required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate verbally in person and over the phone.

Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

Receive and provide reports to management on resident status at the beginning and end of each shift and as needed.
Notify management of changes in residents’ physical or mental status.
Provide personal care according to residents’ individualized plans of care and document pertinent care information.
Prepare residents for meals, assist them to and from the dining room, and help with meal setup and eating.
Assist residents with toileting and incontinence care.
Conduct room checks and verify residents’ locations as directed by a supervisor.
Keep residents’ apartments neat and clean.
Perform clinical procedures according to facility standards and scope-of-practice regulations.
Perform vital signs, blood pressure checks, weights, and other trained procedures as directed by management.
Provide prevention and restorative care, including PROM, AROM, ambulation, transferring, bathing, grooming, and other activities of daily living.
Maintain working knowledge of facility infection-control procedures.
Turn, position, and reposition residents as outlined in their service plans.
Participate in the interdisciplinary team process, including documenting care delivered and resident condition as assigned.
Attend care plan meetings as assigned and act as a resident advocate.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, healthcare team members, and other disciplines.
Participate in the facility’s Quality Assurance Program.
Maintain education, development, and compliance with State and Federal Regulations, and keep current on resident-care practices.
Maintain basic knowledge of the organization to answer basic questions.
Know and follow facility emergency procedures, including fire and disaster drills, and follow facility policies.
Maintain resident confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
