About The Position
The Chemotherapy Pharmacy Tech works in the Infusion Center pharmacy and is trained and proficient in the sterile and non-sterile compounding techniques required to handle hazardous drugs. The technician primarily works in the IV room compounding hazardous drug products for hospitals with significant oncology programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of sterile compounding experience.
- National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA) Chemo Certification or similar.
- State Pharmacy Technician License and Registration, if required by state regulations.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification, or obtain it within 6 months of hire. This requirement may be waived for current pharmacy students enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy.
Nice To Haves
- At least 3 years of related pharmacy experience is preferred.
