Chemotherapy Infusion Registered Nurse
About The Position
Princeton Medical Group, P.A., a private medical practice with more than 30 providers and eight medical specialties, is hiring a full-time Chemotherapy Infusion Registered Nurse for its clinical operations. The role is based in an outpatient medical office in Plainsboro, New Jersey, and involves preparing and administering IV medications to chemotherapy patients under physician supervision, educating patients, and supporting related scheduling and communication needs. The schedule is Monday through Friday, four 10-hour workdays with one rotating day off each week, for 40 scheduled hours per week. Overtime may be required. Pre-employment drug screening and a professional reference check are required.
Requirements
- Valid New Jersey RN license.
- IV certification.
- BLS certification.
- At least one year of nursing experience.
- Experience with an EMR system.
- Knowledge of chemotherapy drugs.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Completion of a pre-employment drug screen and professional reference check.
Nice To Haves
- Oncology certification is preferred.
- Chemotherapy medication-mixing experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer IV drugs to chemotherapy patients under the supervision of a physician.
- Advise supervisors of medication and supply needs.
- Educate cancer patients about nutrition and side effects of drugs used in treatment.
- Schedule patients.
- Ensure patient communication with billing and authorization departments.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
