About The Position
The chemotherapy pharmacy technician is trained and proficient in the sterile and non-sterile compounding techniques required for the handling of hazardous drugs. The technician primarily works in the IV room compounding hazardous drug products for hospitals with significant oncology programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year of sterile compounding experience required
- National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA) Chemo Certification or similar required
- State Pharmacy Technician License and Registration required (if required per state regulations)
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required or obtained within 6 months of hire date (this requirement may be waived for current pharmacy students enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy)
Nice To Haves
- 3 years of related pharmacy experience preferred
