UCT is looking for a talented Chemline Technician IV to join us in Phoenix, AZ! The Chemline Technician IV is a senior-level technical specialist and line leader responsible for executing and optimizing advanced wet chemical processing and ultra-high purity cleaning of semiconductor components. This role operates as a subject matter expert (SME) in chemical processing—owning tank chemistries, validating process outputs, and ensuring parts meet critical contamination and CoA requirements. The Technician IV leads chemline operations, supports new product introductions (NPI), and drives continuous improvement across safety, quality, and throughput.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 4–6+ years of experience in wet chemical processing, plating, etch, or semiconductor cleaning
  • Strong experience in chemical handling and process control
  • Deep understanding of: Chemical reactions, compatibility, and bath control
  • Deep understanding of: Contamination control principles (particles, films, residues)
  • Experience with: SPC, data logging, and process tracking
  • Experience with: Cleanroom and/or semiconductor manufacturing environments
  • Ability to interpret: Work instructions, process specs, and engineering documentation
  • Proven ability to: Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to: Lead workflows and influence team performance
  • Proven ability to: Solve complex technical problems quickly and effectively
  • Strong expertise in: Wet chemical processing and tank chemistry management
  • Strong expertise in: Contamination control (particles, films, residues)
  • Ability to: Work independently on complex assignments with minimal supervision
  • Ability to: Lead workflows and guide team members effectively
  • Ability to: Analyze process data and resolve technical issues quickly
  • Working knowledge of: SPC, process documentation, and quality systems
  • Working knowledge of: Cleanroom and semiconductor manufacturing environments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high purity standards
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, data entry systems)

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced wet chemical cleaning, stripping, etching, and processing of semiconductor components
  • Prepare, monitor, and maintain chemical tank chemistries in accordance with validated recipes
  • Lead daily operations of assigned chemline(s), ensuring throughput, quality, and safety targets are met
  • Review and approve travelers, batch records, test data, and Certificates of Analysis (CoA)
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Troubleshoot process deviations, contamination risks, and equipment issues; implement corrective actions
  • Support first article (FAI), R&D, and new process qualifications
  • Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior technicians
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals in compliance with EHS standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (yield, cycle time, defect reduction)
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support SPC tracking and data logging
  • Occasionally support material handling or customer deliveries, as needed
