About The Position

The Chemistry Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the quality of technical performance in their specialty area is maintained at a consistently high level. This involves direct supervision of employees involved in pre-analytical and analytical test performance. Key responsibilities include teaching, quality control, instrument maintenance, and inventory control. The role also requires performing technical competency assessments and verification of training for staff members, conducting performance evaluations with ongoing feedback, and utilizing basic management skills in daily operations. Administering corrective actions as needed is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Good communication skills to interact with employees on all levels.
  • B.S. Degree and Med Tech Internship.
  • At least 4 years of experience as ASCP/MLS registered medical technologist.
  • One year of experience in area of technical expertise.
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologists, National Certification- MT(ASCP)/MLS.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of employees involved in pre-analytical and analytical test performance.
  • Ensuring quality control, instrument maintenance, and inventory control to maintain high technical performance.
  • Performing technical competency/verification of training assessment for each staff member.
  • Performing performance evaluations along with feedback during the year to keep employees on targeted goals.
