About The Position
Turing is seeking remote Chemistry Specialists for contract projects supporting leading AI labs. Specialists use their chemistry expertise to help fine-tune large language models, assess their performance, and collaborate with researchers on improved benchmarks. No prior AI experience is required. Assignments have defined start and end dates and may involve up to 40 hours per week. The pay rate is $100+ per hour, depending on the role and candidate expertise. Shortlisted candidates complete an evaluation before selection.
Requirements
- Pursuing or completed PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Strong chemistry reasoning and problem-solving skills across advanced domains.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in writing and provide structured feedback.
- No AI experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Design advanced chemistry problems to test AI performance, including in areas such as chemical engineering and biochemistry.
- Develop clear, step-by-step solutions using rigorous logic.
- Evaluate AI outputs for accuracy and quality of reasoning.
- Collaborate with researchers to refine benchmarks spanning undergraduate- through PhD-level chemistry topics.
