About The Position

Community College of Philadelphia is seeking experienced faculty for part-time teaching positions in the Chemistry Department for the 2026-2027 academic year. The department is looking for instructors skilled in Introductory Chemistry, General Chemistry I & II, Organic Chemistry I & II, and Introduction to Biochemistry. The ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to teaching, promoting student success, and contributing to the department's future and the College's mission. Instructors will be responsible for teaching both lecture and lab components of their assigned courses, adhering to common departmental syllabi, and participating in departmental final exams. The College is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment that attracts and retains talented faculty and staff, preparing students for global citizenship, and serving the Philadelphia community through accessible higher education.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Chemistry required.
Demonstrated experience teaching within college or university setting required.

Nice To Haves

Ph.D in Chemistry preferred.
Demonstrated experience teaching diverse student populations preferred.
Bilingual or other language proficiency is preferred.

Teach the following courses: Introductory Chemistry, General Chemistry I & II, Organic Chemistry I & II, and Introduction to Biochemistry.

Actively participate in the academic life of the College; including participation in graduation, recruitment events, general assemblies, student life activities and other cross functional teams.
