About The Position

This position is expected to assist in the continual improvement and strengthening of the Master Finish Company plating processes by testing process solutions and reporting variations from standards, advising proper additions to return process solutions to standards, and maintaining compliance with all AIAG CQI-11 testing requirements. The role involves understanding and implementing ISO 14001 EMS and 9001 QMS policies, performing internal audits, ensuring proper treatment of plating solutions, maintaining lab equipment, and managing lab chemical inventory. The technician will also be responsible for understanding chemical handling, proper disposal of solution samples, and maintaining a clean and organized lab environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Analytical Chemistry and Related Courses/Seminars
  • Knowledge of chemistry lab testing equipment
  • Knowledge of solution testing procedures
  • Knowledge of plating processes
  • Knowledge of chemicals and hazard communications
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Highly organized
  • Close-toed shoes are required when working in and around production areas.
  • Use or operate any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger himself, herself or any other worker.
  • Engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Testing process solutions and reporting variations from standards
  • Advising proper additions to return process solutions to standards
  • Maintain compliance with all AIAG CQI-11 testing requirements
  • Understand and implement the ISO 14001 EMS and 9001 QMS policies as they pertain to the position, and perform internal audits of those policies and procedures
  • Perform all AIAG CQI-11 testing requirements
  • Ensure proper treatment of all plating solutions
  • Ensure all lab equipment is maintained and functioning properly
  • Maintain knowledge of chemicals and their uses in the plating process
  • Maintain lab chemical inventory
  • Understand handling and proper disposal of solution samples
  • Keep lab clean and organized
  • Follow general safety guidelines and procedures when working with and around machinery
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Safety & Health Act and the regulations.
  • Report to his or her employer or supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective of which the worker is aware and which may endanger himself, herself or another worker.
  • To ensure that no unauthorized people enter the company facilities.
  • Verify that all doors are locked and lights, equipment, etc. are turned off when required.
  • Ensure that the building is a clean and safe workplace at all times.
