About The Position

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Co-Op, Chemistry to join the Space Systems Sector. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California. The successful candidate should plan to work full time Spring and Summer semesters (January-August 2027), with flexible start and end dates. This position would be with Western Region Production Engineering. As a co-op, you’ll participate in a co-op program to develop competencies in a variety of chemistry specializations.

Requirements

Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2027
Be majoring in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) from January- August 2027
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of duties in the chemistry laboratories.
Designs, executes, and reports on experiments to support internal and external customers with materials qualification, production troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
Operates related equipment and interprets results for project stakeholders.
Recommends next-steps and alternative testing for risk mitigation and remediation.
