About The Position

Penn United Technologies, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Chemist in their growing Electroplating facility. This person will be an integral member of a busy chemistry lab, with primary responsibilities to sample, analyze and document plating bath chemistry. Requirements

  • Associates degree in Chemistry or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience working with analytical equipment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Must be able to work daylight, afternoon and midnight shifts

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of electroplating technology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Analyze plating bath chemistry for various elements, using various testing and analysis methods
  • Monitor the variability of bath parameters & establish & modify control procedures
  • Perform daily & weekly bath analyses on nickel, gold, copper, tin/lead and acids and cleaners
  • Establish sampling plans for in-house material analysis to maintain statistical control and certifiability of coatings
  • Troubleshoot chemical process control problems
  • Test for concentrations using titration and Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES), run hull cell panels on baths and make chemical and additive additions based upon the results
  • Perform daily bath analyses and usage analysis
  • Maintain the records needed to confirm sound statistical control of plating chemistries, for current and prospective chemists
  • Follow all safety and quality plans in accordance with company programs and policies
  • Maintain records including production quantities
  • Maintain all analytical equipment in the lab as well as maintain chemical & equipment supplies
