Our Chemist is responsible for performing physical and chemical testing in support of the site Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program. The lab operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. This position is a third shift position M-F from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related technical field
  • A minimum of 0 - 2 years experience in an Analytical lab, or pharmaceutical, medical device, cosmetic or consumer products industries
  • Proven proficiency in laboratory skills with training in chemistry
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willing to work third shift M-F

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical and chemical testing of raw material, packaging material, in-process and finished product in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Approves materials and products based on test results
  • Participate in investigations to identify root cause and recommend corrective and preventive actions
  • Apply appropriate methodologies and data interpretation techniques to assist in overcoming difficulties and promote continuous improvement.
  • Maintain the laboratory quality assurance systems to assure validity of data and troubleshoot basic instrument problems
  • Perform or assist vendors in the installation qualification (IQ), operational qualification (OQ) and performance qualification (PQ) of laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Conducts lab verification of instruments
  • Use laboratory safety equipment and understand precautions in handling reagents and disposal of chemical waste according with local environmental regulations
  • Develop in depth knowledge of how to operate analytical instruments and other standard laboratory equipment relevant to job responsibilities
  • Understand and accurately follow written lab procedures, global methods, local methods and published standard sources
  • Develop in depth knowledge of how to calibrate and maintain analytical instruments and the use of analytical reference standards relevant to job description
  • Prepare positive release documentation including analytical lab reports and certificates of analysis
