Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, general computer skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written)
  • Ability to read and understand ASTM, ISO, AMS, etc., specifications and specific customer standards and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance SOP’s, customer testing specifications, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong applied math skills (arithmetic, algebra)
  • Standard office equipment and computers
  • Analytical equipment
  • Cut off saws, sanders, and shears
  • Ability to work weekends and/or off shifts
  • Ability to work independently or within a group
  • Ability to understand and follow SOPs and customer requirements
  • Ability to produce Quality work while maintaining a safe work environment
  • Ability to use basic hand tools

Nice To Haves

  • Prior knowledge of optical microscopes and image analysis systems
  • Chemical laboratory experience highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Analyze composites - Physical and chemical
  • Operation of analytical equipment such as ICP- MS, ICP- OES, XRF, ONH, CS, OES, XRD, powder characterization.
  • Managing the calibration of glass wares and the instruments and maintenance, cleaning and checking of equipment
  • Coordinating with the other technicians in the team to carry out work as per the planning schedule
  • Manage verification and calibration of instruments

Benefits

  • Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 yr DOE
