A growing energy organization in West Texas is seeking a hands-on Water Chemist / Laboratory Specialist to support analytical testing, compliance initiatives, and water treatment optimization efforts within a dynamic industrial environment. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field
- 2+ years of experience within oil & gas, environmental laboratory, or water treatment environments
- Strong understanding of water quality testing and analytical chemistry methods
- Experience with produced water, desalination, or industrial water systems highly preferred
- Comfortable working in a remote industrial setting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- TCEQ, NPDES, or TPDES compliance exposure
- Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Supervisory or lead laboratory experience
- ICP, IC, TOC analyzers, or related instrumentation
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and specialized testing on treated water, feed water, brine, and related samples
- Perform wet chemistry and analytical testing using laboratory instrumentation and field-testing equipment
- Support environmental and regulatory compliance sampling efforts
- Assist with troubleshooting scaling, corrosion, fouling, and treatment performance issues
- Analyze laboratory results and identify process improvement opportunities
- Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, data logs, and reporting records
- Support laboratory organization, safety procedures, and equipment management
- Collaborate with operations and technical teams to improve overall treatment performance
