About The Position

Perform routine chemical analyses using inductively couple plasma optical emission spectrometer or dry combustion analyzers to quantify analytes such as carbon, boron, calcium, copper, nitrogen, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, or zinc. Prepare reagents and calibration standards and follow established analytical methods. Review sample submissions for completeness; log, track, and prepare samples using established procedures including filtration, digestion, extraction, and homogenization while maintaining proper documentation. Compile analytical results, perform QA/QC checks, and enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Generate accurate and timely reports. Follow laboratory SOPs, QA/QC protocols, and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe handling of chemicals. Perform routine instrument maintenance, maintain laboratory cleanliness, and manage chemical, supply, and waste inventories. Other duties as assigned to support laboratory operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a closely related field
  • No experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Academic coursework and/or practical experience in analytical chemistry techniques, including inductively coupled plasma and combustion instrumentation, colorimetric analyses, titrations, and operation of automated analytical instrumentation.
  • Experience in a service laboratory environment
  • Familiarity with QA/QC procedures
  • Proficiency with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
