Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in chemistry; or A bachelor’s degree that includes 30 credits in chemistry or biochemistry.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license that is not under suspension.
  • Must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and quality control materials needed for laboratory testing
  • Operate analytical instruments by following approved procedures and performing routine calibrations
  • Record observations, enter data into laboratory systems, and review information for accuracy
  • Apply laboratory quality rules, participate in studies, and maintain records that support reliable results
  • Receive, sort, and document samples while verifying correct identification and container use
  • Produce clear scientific records and assist with creating reports that describe findings
