The Plant Engineering Chemical Systems Technician is responsible for providing cultural leadership by exemplifying core values. This role involves coordinating, planning, and performing equipment preventative maintenance, repairs, and improvements. The technician will manage contractors, provide technical guidance to other technicians, and be involved in Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development and training. A key focus will be supporting root cause investigations and implementing solutions, acting as a technical expert primarily on chemical systems, slurry systems, chemical dilutions, and batch creations. Responsibilities include drum and tote chemical changes, offloading of bulk chemical systems, and maintaining working knowledge of filtration, assay concentrations, titrations, pH, %Solids, and conductivity. The role also encompasses the unloading and receipt of chemical deliveries, storage of chemicals, and review of certificates of analysis. Developing annual plans for equipment areas and capital planning, ensuring site uptime and equipment reliability, and managing chemical inventory using FIFO principles are also crucial. Hazardous waste handling and resist canister changes are part of the duties, along with maintaining supply and quality parameters of chemical and slurry distributions. The technician will maintain equipment uptime through maintenance and troubleshooting of system equipment, including valves, filters, piping, pressure vacuum vessels, pumps, and instrumentation. Operating system equipment via HMI for batch creation and/or distribution, monitoring and operating HVAC equipment, and responding to key equipment like boilers, cooling towers, and chillers for clean room operations are essential. Other key equipment includes scrubber systems, fire systems, vacuum, and compressed air. The role involves operating the DI water plant, performing system rounds, rotating equipment, and working within defined technical processes and procedures. Initiating and driving continuous improvements, upholding area upkeep and 5S principles, and operating heavy machinery including forklifts and pallet jacks are also required. Collaboration across departments and escalating issues as required, completing assigned preventative maintenance tasks, and performing record keeping and reporting are part of the daily functions.
